Star Quartet Contest

The anticipation, excitement, and discipline of preparing for an
adjudicated barbershop contest in an environment of learning and
fun is available to women singers age 25 and younger at the Rising
Star Quartet Contest. The contest is just one feature of an exciting
convention, produced by Sweet Adelines International, one of the
world's most experienced vocal music education organizations.
The Young Singers Foundation awards cash prizes of $2,000, $1,000
and $500 for the first, second and third place winners of the Rising
Start Quartet Contest.
The purpose of the Rising Star Quartet Contest is to encourage young
women to develop mastery in their singing technique, and experience
the pleasure of singing four-part a cappella harmony in the barbershop
style.
The 2012 Rising Star Quartet contest will be held in Denver, Colorado on November 3, 2012.

2012 Silent Auction
The Young Singers Foundation is pleased to announce that this year's YSF Silent Auction held in Denver in conjunction with the International Convention and Competition will now include online bidding for our fabulous COACHING and ARRANGER GIFT CERTIFICATES. New this year - SKYPE COACHING is now available.
Please note that all of these coaches have generously gifted their coaching time to benefit the Young Singers Foundation. You will be bidding on the Coaching Session ONLY. The successful bidder will be responsible for payment of transportation costs and accommodation expenses. Of course, if you are the successful bidder for a skype coaching session the only expense will be the cost of the coaching session. All payments to be made to the YOUNG SINGERS FOUNDATION.

You may place online bids at anytime up until Thursday, Nov. 1, at 9 a.m. You will need to provide Shelly with your name, cell number/email address and bid amount. Successful bidders will be contacted and at that time be asked for provide credit card information and ultimately receive their COACHING GIFT CETIFICATES in the mail.
PLEASE NOTE: We have listed VALUE of the coaching certificate and MINIMUM BID PRICE — you may increase your bids in increments of $10 (U.S. funds).

Congratulations to Sheila Koplitz!
Our YSF Cover Girl, Sheila Koplitz, will be appearing (with friends) on the cover of the October 2012 issue of The Pitch Pipe! Sheila is the winner of the YSF 20th Anniversary online donation promotion drawing. She is a current member of Fox Valley and has been a Sweet Adeline since 1977. The Young Singers Foundation is proud to be celebrating 20 years of enriching the lives of young people through support of vocal music and music therapy education and performance opportunities. Because of your support of the Young Singers Foundation, more than $800,000 has been awarded to over 500 grant and scholarship recipients.
